QPR for Suicide Prevention

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is intended to teach those who are in a position to recognize the warning signs, clues and suicidal communications of people in trouble to ACT vigorously to prevent a possible tragedy. The training takes just one or two hours and is taught in a format that is clear and concise. Gatekeepers – those who may come on contact with others who may be considering suicide – are given information that is easy to understand and reinforced by a QPR booklet and card complete with warning signs, methods to encourage a person to get help and a list of resources available in their community. It is not intended to be a form of counseling or treatment, but it is intended to offer hope through positive action.

Audience: ALL members of our community, including parents of K-12 children.
Program length: 1.5-2 hours.
Please call 317.586.2141 for dates and fee information.

QPR is program approved by the Indiana Department of Education to fulfill the licensing requirement for suicide prevention training for teachers and counselors.

Carlabeth is a Certified QPR instructor.
